The NESCO/American Harvest JB-50 2-in-1 Juicer/Blender has a unique base that accommodates both the blender and the juicer component. The blender connection features a 50 ounce heavy glass jar and works like any other blender that you use in the kitchen. It has a powerful 2 speeds with pulse feature option that can be used in the preparation of food. It has suction cup feet for stability and a safety lock system. Use it to mix and blend ingredients for use in soups, sauces and other types of food preparation. The juicer function in the JB-50 Juicer/Blender combination extracts pulp and juice from your favorite fruit or vegetable and turns them into a delicious and healthy drink. The JB-50 comes with a 1-1/4 by 2 inches juicer tube and provides you with a way to prepare preservative free drinks that provide your body with certain vitamins and minerals, as well as anti-oxidants to purify and clean your body. Save the pulp to use in soups or baked goods for additional flavor. Easy to remove stainless steel sieve and pulp collector for easy cleaning. Compact footprint so it won't take up a lot of counter space and is easy to store. All parts except the base are dishwasher safe.

This Nesco 2-in-1 Juicer Blender offers an inexpensive way to enter into the world of juicing for health without breaking the bank. But you may want to invest in a better quality unit since this unit seems very cheesy in construction and performance is lacking in key areas. On the plus side, having a blender easily accessible while juicing is important since there are certain "dry" fruits and vegetables that don't juice well, like strawberries, avocados and bananas. When making a juice drink you can easily use the blender in addition to the juicer to make a smoothie that lets you incorporate the -non-juicer friendly drier fruits and vegetables. The 50oz Blender container is glass and quite heavy. The blade assembly does not detach which makes cleaning the blender a dicey affair. Took me a while to get this review out because I'm not a dedicated juicer user.Juicer: * I found the hopper feed to be annoyingly small. Took a lot of slicing and dicing to get the fruit/veggies into the extractor and I expected the extractor to do a lot more grinding and extracting than it did. * The grinder and pulp chamber got pretty sloppy and the pulp itself was pretty wet. A lot of potential juice could be thrown away. * The clip-on extractor unit itself seemed to work okay and will probably last a while unless roughly handled or abused. Blender: * I liked the glass pitcher and it's heft. Felt substantial. * Mixing items in the blender was fine. Light jobs like mixing liquids and powders should be no problem. * Heavier jobs like chopping or grinding ice for extended periods of time will probably burn the motor out quickly. I've been using this blender/juicer for two months now and it has proven to be a real workhorse in the kitchen. I don't do much juicing, but blending we do a lot of -- from homemade smoothies in the summer, to using it to whip up protein drinks after a workout. Everything I've thrown at it so far it has handled with ease!The unit itself is built very solidly; I am impressed with how sturdy both the base and the blender jar are. Most blenders nowadays have a lightweight jar that I'm scared to death will break if I even so much as drop it. Not this guy -- it has a very thick glassed jar that can take a beating. In fact after I accidentally dropped it on the floor from the counter and it survived I can attest to the fact that 3-4 foot drops are no problem for this little guy!
